Top Happy Fathers Day Poems From Daughter

1) My Daddy Is The Greatest

My daddy is the greatest;
The best dad there ever was.
He always brings me lots of joy;
He’s my very own Santa Claus.
My daddy can do anything;
He’s smart as smart can be.
I love to walk and hold his hand
To show he belongs to me.
I love my daddy!
– By Karl Fuchs

2) Perfect Dad Blend – Fathers day poem from daughter

I am glad you’re my father;
You’re really the best;
As a dad, you’re a fine one;
I’m so very blessed.
You’re smart, and you’re strong,
Just a perfect dad blend;
You’re my father, my counselor
And a really good friend.
 – By Joanna Fuchs

3) A Real Father

It’s not so common anymore
to have a dad who’s really there,
who is the provider for his family,
who comes home every night,
whose predictability
creates a sense of stability and security
in his household.
Your routine may not seem valuable to you,
but it’s worth a lot to me.
I’m thankful that I can depend on you
to always be you–
a real father,
responsible, trustworthy,
and a great role model.
I’ve learned a lot of good things
from watching you.
Thanks, Dad.
– By Joanna Fuchs

4) I Want to Be Just Like You

In a time when fathers are totally absent,
gone most of the time,
or physically present but mentally distracted,
you are there for me—
looking at me, listening to me
understanding me, talking with me.
You make time for me
even when it’s inconvenient for you.
You make me feel important to you.
I learn from you when you teach me,
when I watch you do things,
and when I observe you
just being you—a terrific father.
Every affectionate smile you give me,
every pat on the back, every hug
shows me you love me,
that you’re proud of me.
These are things I’ll remember
to do for my own kids.
You’re a great role model, Dad.
I want to be just like you.

Happy Fathers Day Poems for Grandpa

1) Dedication To Grandpa

I remember how he used to twiddle his thumbs,
I remember how he used to sit in his chair.
I remember how he breathed real loud,
I remember all the times we shared.

I remember the old brown car he owned,
I remember how he always played the .
I remember all the collection of stamps,
I remember his house in Florida on Poppy.

I remember fishing with cane poles in his pond,
I remember feeding the rabbits and picking the eggs.
I remember eating everything on my plate,
I remember how he used to tell me there’s no meat on my legs.

I remember the smiles and the laughter on his face,
I remember good times and bad.
I remember talking to him the very last time,
I will always remember him saying “I love you too” which made me glad.

2) What Is A Grandpa ?

A grandpa is a father a grandpa is a son.
A grandpa is a husband all grandpas are loved.
Some grandpas have hair while others are bald.
Some grandpas fish and others like hunting.
A grandpa can be more than just a grandpa though.
A grandpa can be a friend who knows how to have fun.
All grandpas are special to many other people.
But no other grandpa is just like mine.
Grandpas are unique in many different ways.
No two grandpas are alike
my grandpa might not be like he is now.
But even if that happened I know one thing that’s true.
My grandpa will always be a special person to me

A Beautiful Fathers Day Poem About Dad, Daughter Girl and Woman

Dad is Everything – True Father’s Day Poem

A little girl needs her daddy
To love her with manly charm,
To soothe her when she’s hurt,
And keep her safe from harm.
A girl needs her dad
To show her a man who’s good,
To help her make right choices,
As only a father could.
A woman needs her father
Just to be aware,
He’ll always be there for her
To sustain her and to care.
You’ve been all these things, Dad.
I hope that you can see
How much I treasure you;
You mean everything to me.

Beautiful Happy Fathers Day Poems From Wife For Husband

1) The Dutiful Husband – Poems From Wife

The Dutiful Husband…
Comes home from work
all fires are out with only a squirt.
A quiet evening he looks forward to,
just Bill O’Reilly, a glass of wine will do.

His loyal wife – some news she has,
The Dryer – it’s broke – I’m lost
she cries.

With bulging eyes and clenched white fists, he calmly says:
Put It On My List

She paces and paces and gives a shrill,
till finally she wins over dear ole Bill.

The dryer is dragged from its’ lint filled nitch,
unscrewed in places where only midgets could fit.
Adjectives fly from this wine filled mouth
WHERE’S MY TOOLS he says with a shout.

Hours pass, parts askew, sweat on his brow ;
(Oh more wine will do!)
FORGET IT he says
Thank You Dear!!!

Poem by – Theresa Bush

2) To My Husband – Father’s Day Poem From Wife

When I look at you being a dad to our children,
my heart swells with gratitude and pride,

I find myself sitting in a corner, admiring you be your natural self,
being in your comfort zone of daddy hood.

I feel so blessed to have a husband like you
I am so thankful that my children are blessed
with a father as caring, thoughtful, and supportive as you

It must be Heavenly Father looking out for me
He knew we would compliment each other
so he blessed us with each other

On this Father’s Day here is a wish for you
I wish for continuous blessings from above
For God’s guidance, protection, strength
For health, long life and prosperity

I want to thank you for always putting our children’s interest first
We love you from the bottom of our hearts
We wish you Happy Father’s Day

3) Sweet Poem From Wife For Fathers Day

YOU told me you loved me
YOU shared all your hopes and fears
YOU spoke of your goals
YOU make me shed many tears

YOU were once so open and honest
YOU did so many things right from the start
YOU seemed very sincere
YOU have since broken my heart

YOU promised me the world
YOU gave me reasons to believe
YOU allowed me to spread my wings
YOU make me feel like you will only deceive

YOU stole my heart away
YOU used to be full of fun and joy
YOU made me feel like I was special
YOU have me thinking I was just a toy

YOU made love to me, and I gave you children
YOU eventually made me your spouse
YOU cared about my feelings once upon a time
YOU treat me today as if I’m a louse

YOU need to treat me with respect and honor
YOU need to quit casing anymore pain and strife
YOU need to remember that I am your wife
YOU need to go back to the man that you once were
YOU need to stop lying to you and to me
YOU need to realize it’s bringing much grief
YOU need to stop and think that I don’t have to be

Short Poems on Fathers Day 2014 | Happy Father’s Day Daddy

My Daddy – A Short Poem on Daddy

My Daddy is a mountain
My Daddy is a sea
My Daddy smiles again and again
I love my Daddy
And I know he loves me
’cause my Daddy is a ray of lite
that warms a winters’ eve
My daddy is very special to me
I could not live without my daddy
as he could not live without me.

Short Happy Fathers Day Poem

Happy Fathers Day
Happy Fathers day means more
than have a happy day
It means i love you first of all
Then thanks for all you do
It means you mean a lot to me
and that I honor you.

To My Dad on His Day – Sweet Short Poem

To my dad on his day,
Of whom I am a living will:
May your happiness fulfill
Your goodness, as is just and right.
Deeds are seeds upon the night
As wind and wonder have their way,
Delivering the destined light.

A Father Is: Short Fathers Day Poem

There in every memory
See his love and care
Strength and hands to count on
Freely he does share
Provider, toil so faithfully
To make our dreams come true
Give strong and tender discipline
Though it is hard to do
A Father is God’s chosen one
To lead the family
And point it to His will for life
Of love and harmony…

Always there for me – Short Poems on Fathers Day

I know you will always hear my rumbling and bear my blaring
I know you will always stand by me even if the world is against
I know you will always adore me and elevate me
I know you will think about me every moment
I know you will be infelicitous without your princess
I know you will always be there for me
You know I love you

Happy Fathers Day Poem To Daddy Or A Friend

My dad is very special,
He’s not just a dad but a friend;
For he knows where there is a Difference,
When one should start and the other end.

He’s my dad when I need real guidance,
But if I need a pal for a while,
He’s right there in each situation,
Not with just concern, but a smile.

Kids need someone like that,
To help them draw that line,
Between what is right and wrong.
Sometimes the difference is hard to define.

So I’d like to thank Dad for being there,
For helping me all the way.
And to all the Dads who stand by their kids,
God bless you this Father’s Day.

“Father I will always be
that same boy who stood by the sea
and watched you tower over me
now I’m older I wanna be the same as you”
Fathers Day Quote by: Yellowcard

A father is someone that
holds your hand at the fair
makes sure you do what your mother says
holds back your hair when you are sick
brushes that hair when it is tangled because mother is too busy
lets you eat ice cream for breakfast
but only when mother is away
he walks you down the aisle
and tells you everythings gonna be ok

Fatherhood is pretending the present you love most is soap-on-a-rope.
Fathers Day Quote by: Bill Cosby

Henry James once defined life as that predicament which precedes death,
and certainly nobody owes you a debt of honor or gratitude for getting
him into that predicament. But a child does owe his father a debt, if
Dad, having gotten him into this peck of trouble, takes off his coat and
buckles down to the job of showing his son how best to crash through it.
Fathers Day Quote by: Clarence Budington Kelland

a woman he turns her back again.

Fathers Day Quote by: Lydia M. Child, Philothea: A Romance, 1836

When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly
stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was

if they didn’t.
Fathers Day Quote by: Barbara Kingsolver, Animal Dreams

Fathers Day Quote by: M*A*S*H, Colonel Potter

Oh, the comfort, the inexpressible comfort of feeling safe with a

them all out, just as they are, chaff and grain together, certain that a
faithful hand will take and sift them, keep what is worth keeping, and
with a breath of kindness blow the rest away.
Fathers Day Quote by: Dinah Craik

Spread the diaper in the position of the diamond with you at bat. Then
fold second base down to home and set the baby on the pitcher’s mound.
Put first base and third together, bring up home plate and pin the three
together. Of course, in case of rain, you gotta call the game and start
all over again.

that day on, you’re in a constant state of panic.

There must always be a struggle between a father and son, while one

Fathers Day Quote by: Samuel Johnson

My son, a perfect little boy of five years and three months, had ended
his earthly life. You can never sympathize with me; you can never know
how much of me such a young child can take away. A few weeks ago I
accounted myself a very rich man, and now the poorest of all.

A man never stands as tall as when he kneels to help a child.
Fathers Day Quote by: Knights of Pythagoras

“When a child is born, a father is born. A mother is born, too of

once. On the other side of a plate-glass window, a nurse is holding up

Fathers Day Quote by: Frederick Buechner, ‘Whistling in the Dark’

I watched a small man with thick calluses on both hands work fifteen

My father was a statesman, I’m a political woman.
My father was a saint. I’m not.

7 years: My Dad knows a lot…a whole lot.
8 years: My father does not know quite everything.

Fathers Day 2014: Dedicated To Fathers

Happy Father’s Day 2014 : Father’s Day is an occasion to gratify the deeds of a father, who is like a silent and strong pillar in a family. Though he spends lesser time with his children than a mother, this is no yardstick to measure his love for his family. He is rather, such a person, who looks after the needs as well as desires of his family in his own silent way, without ever even trying to make a show of what he does for them. A father does no less for his children than a mother, but seldom gets as much gratification as a mother does. We have songs and poems written in honor of mothers, but fathers are the least appreciated people in the world. Most of us fail to recognize what our fathers have done for us as we simply take them for granted. But with Fathers Day around the corner, we have an opportunity to show our respect and honor towards the fathers and what all they have done for us.

What is father’s day?

Father’s day is a festival celebrated around the world to honor the role played by the fathers in the family and also recognizing their vital contribution for supporting it financially, morally and emotionally. Though various countries celebrate this day on various dates, most of the countries, including Canada, USA, UK and India, observe the third Sunday of June as the Fathers Day, which falls on June 15 this year 2014. The history of this day being celebrated as the Fathers Day is not believed to be too old. It is believed to have its roots in the United States, where a woman called Sonora Smart Dodd thought of the idea in 1910 to honor the fathers by celebrating the Fathers Day, as mothers were honored with a special day called the Mothers Day being celebrated as a tribute to them. Since then, Fathers Day is being celebrated as a custom in the United States, which was slowly propagated to other countries around the world. However, there is another theory, which associates the celebration of this event with the pagan Sun Worship, which was a practice in the ancient times. Since back in the period of paganism, the sun was considered to be the father of the universe, it is believed that the Fathers Day is marked on the third week of June, to correspond with the June Solstice which falls on approximately the same date (June 21st). However, this is the day more about your emotions toward your father, rather than the history.

Ideal Gifts for your father

The best gift you can give to your father is your time and attention, particularly if he has grown old. Most of us grown-ups are so badly wrapped up in our daily lives that we hardly realize that how long it has been since we have just talked our fathers. We simply forget how they held our hands and taught us to walk, how they helped us through our studies, how they managed to buy things for us and how they could arrange money for fulfilling all our wishes, when we were young. Well, they need us and our love the most. However, Fathers day is the occasion when you can express your love with a meaningful gift to your father. It can be something as simple as n a card, (a hand-made one can show your true feelings, but plenty of them are available in the market if you lack time to make it), some flowers, a dinner date or a personal gift such as a watch. It really depends upon your budget and preference. But once again, I assert that it is the feelings rather than the gift, which will give more happiness to your father.

Some Gift Ideas for your father

A large number of gift options are available in the market if you are looking for a perfect gift for your father this Fathers Day. The first thing you must keep in mind while selecting a Father’s Day is his requirement and your budget, besides of course, the feelings you want to convey with this gift. You can look for a nice shirt, tie or ethnic wear, if your father prefers to wear Indian clothes. Other gifts could be a branded watch, cufflinks or perfume. If your father is gadget savvy, you can gift him a latest android phone, i-pad or laptop. In case budget is of no concern, you could go for expensive gifts such as a gold chain or a bracelet, with your names engraved on it. And if you are looking for some inexpensive gifts, you could take him out for a dinner followed by a nice walk and warm conversation after that. Even some roses with some of his favorite chocolates and a simple card can also express your gratitude towards him for always being there for you. As I said before, what really matters is the emotions behind the gift, rather than its price tag.

Father’s Day Wishes

Father’s Day is an event when you can express your love and gratitude towards your father. It is always more meaningful to express what you feel from the core of your heart, rather than looking for inspiration from someplace else. Some common father’s day wishes are quoted as follows:
  1. The first true love for a daughter is and will always be, her father.
  2. A father is someone who will never let you go astray, but will always be your guiding star.
  3. Thank you Dad for always being there by my side and making my world a beautiful place to live in.
Besides these wishes, you can say thanks to your father in your own heartfelt and meaningful words.
So let us not lose this chance to thank and honor our fathers for all they have been doing for us. And one more thing, once a father, always a father- even if we grow into adults and our fathers grow old, they will always try to shelter us from all sorts of problems that life brings for us. A father is always like a shady tree for his children, giving them strong roots and protecting them from the heat and dust of life!!!

Happy Father’s day wishes 2014

The governor of Washington proclaimed the nation’s first “Father’s day” on July 19, 1910. Father’s day is celebrated honoring father and celebrating fatherhood. It is mostly celebrated on the third Sunday of June. It was created to complement Mother’s day. The idea of celebrating Father’s day was provided by Ms Sonora Dodd, a loving daughter from Spokane. As her father Henry Jackson single-handedly raised Sonora and five of her siblings after the death of their mother during birth child. She thought that, if there is a day to honor all mother then there should be a corresponding day to honor all fathers. Sonora worked continuously for the years to make the idea of honoring father to reality.President Richard Nixon established the permanent national celebration of Father’s day on the third Sunday of June.

What Makes a Dad
God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree,
The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature,
The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages,
The power of the eagle’s flight,
The joy of a morning in spring,
The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity,
The depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities,
When there was nothing more to add,
He knew His masterpiece was complete,
And so, He called it … Dad

My Dad and I
My dad and I-we think alike,
He knows just what I mean
Before I even say a word
He reads, well, in between.
My dad and I-we like to fish
Or build a model plane,
Or fix a broken chair or two
Or just a windowpane.
My dad and I-we know the score
Of every single game;
Sometimes he’s really busy, too
But he takes me just the same.
My dad and I-we go swimming too,
Each year and sometimes twice.
My dad and I-we do everything;
My dad-he’s really nice.
Phyllis C. Michael
Over the years
As we grow old,
We remember our father
So brave and bold.
In the garden,
Leaning on the plow,
He would listen to me;
I see him now.
He would give advice
And understand;
He was always there
To lend a hand.
God made fathers
Strong and firm,
For he knew our lives
Would have great concerns.
So he gave us fathers
To teach us to pray,
And guide our lives,
And show us the way.
So on his day
Let’s take the time
To say “Thanks, dad.
I’m glad you’re mine.”
Funny Fathers Day Poems From Kids

A Little Girl Needs Daddy
A little girl needs Daddy
For many, many things:
Like holding her high off the ground
Where the sunlight sings!
Like being the deep music
That tells her all is right
When she awakens frantic with
The terrors of the night.
Like being the great mountain
That rises in her heart
And shows her how she might get home
When all else falls apart.
Like giving her the love
That is her sea and air,
So diving deep or soaring high
She’ll always find him there.

Daddy, I Love You
Daddy, I love you
For all that you do.
I’ll kiss you and hug you
‘Cause you love me, too.
You feed me and need me
To teach you to play,
So smile ’cause I love you
On this Father’s Day.

My Dad’s Hands
Bedtime came, we were settling down,
I was holding one of my lads.
As I grasped him so tight, I saw a strange sight:
My hands. . .they looked like my dad’s!
I remember them well, those old gnarled hooks,
there was always a cracked nail or two.
And thanks to a hammer that strayed from its mark,
his thumb was a beautiful blue!
They were rough, I remember, incredibly tough,
as strong as a carpenter’s vice.
But holding a scared little boy at night,
they seemed to me awfully nice!
The sight of those hands – how impressive it was
in the eyes of his little boy.
Other dads’ hands were cleaner, it seemed
(the effects of their office employ).
I gave little thought in my formative years
of the reason for Dad’s raspy mitts:
The love in the toil, the dirt and the oil,
rusty plumbing that gave those hands fits!
Thinking back, misty-eyed, and thinking ahead,
when one day my time is done.
The torch of love in my own wrinkled hands
will pass on to the hands of my son.
I don’t mind the bruises, the scars here and there
or the hammer that just seemed to slip.
I want most of all when my son takes my hand,
to feel that love lies in the grip.
David Kettler
My Dad
When I was just a tiny kid,
Do you remember when,
The time you kissed my bruises,
Or cleaned by soiled chin?
You scrambled for the balls I hit,
(Short-winded more than not,)
Yet, every time we’d play a game,
You praised the “outs” I caught.
It seems like only yesterday,
You wiped away my tears,
And late at night I called your name,
To chase away my fears.
Though time has changed your handsome grip,
Your hair is snowy white,
You gait’s a little slower now,
Thick glasses help your sight.
Oh, do I thirst for years gone by,
To be that growing lad,
Re-living all of the memories,
Of growing with my dad.

Fathers are Wonderful People
Fathers are wonderful people
Too little understood,
And we do not sing their praises
As often as we should…
For, somehow, Father seems to be
The man who pays the bills,
While Mother binds up little hurts
And nurses all our ills…
And Father struggles daily
To live up to “HIS IMAGE”
As protector and provider
And “hero or the scrimmage”…
And perhaps that is the reason
We sometimes get the notion,
That Fathers are not subject
To the thing we call emotion,
But if you look inside Dad’s heart,
Where no one else can see
You’ll find he’s sentimental
And as “soft” as he can be…
But he’s so busy every day
In the grueling race of life,
He leaves the sentimental stuff
To his partner and his wife…
But Fathers are just WONDERFUL
In a million different ways,
And they merit loving compliments
And accolade of praise,
For the only reason Dad aspires
To fortune and success
Is to make the family proud of him
And to bring them happiness…
He’s a guardian and a guide,
Someone that we can count on

Butterfly Kisses
There’s two things I know for sure.
She was sent here from heaven,
and she’s daddy’s little girl.
As I drop to my knees by her bed at night,
she talks to Jesus, and I close my eyes.
And I thank God for all of the joy in
my life, But most of all, for…
Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer.
Stickin’ little white flowers all up in her hair.
“Walk beside the pony daddy,
it’s my first ride.”
“I know the cake looks funny,
daddy, but I sure tried.”
Oh, with all that I’ve done wrong,
I must have done something right
To deserve a hug every morning,
And butterfly kisses at night.
Sweet sixteen today,
She’s looking like her momma
a little more everyday.
One part woman, the other part girl.
To perfume and makeup,
form ribbons and curls.
Trying her wings out
in a great big world. But I remember…
Butterfly kisses after bedtime prayer.
Stickin’ little white flowers all up in her hair.
“You know how much I love you daddy,
But if you don’t mind,
I’m only going to kiss you on
the cheek this time.”
With all that I’ve done wrong
I must have done something right.
To deserve her love every morning,
And butterfly kisses at night.
All the precious time
Like the wind, the years go by
Precious butterfly
Spread your wings and fly
She’ll change her name today.
She’ll make a promise,
and I’ll give her away.
Standing in the bride room
just staring at her,
she asked me what I’m thinking,
and I said “I’m not sure,
I just feel like I’m losing my baby girl.”
Then she leaned over….and gave me….
Butterfly kisses, with her mama there
Sticking little flowers all up in her hair
“Walk me down the aisle, daddy,
it’s just about time.”
“Does my wedding gown look pretty, daddy?”
“Daddy, don’t cry.”
With all that I’ve done wrong,
I must have done something right
To deserve her love every morning,
And butterfly kisses
I couldn’t ask God for more, man, this is what love is
I know I’ve gotta let her go, but I’ll always remember
Every hug in the morning, and butterfly kisses…
